When Styled Calendar’s internal Google Calendar API quota is exhausted for any user within a twenty-four hour period, that user will see a warning that reads “Google Calendar API Quota Exhausted”.
What Does This Warning Mean?
When this quota is exhausted, Styled Calendar will not make any new requests to the Google Calendar API on behalf of the user until the current twenty-four hour period is over. Some calendar data will still be available from Styled Calendar’s caches, but many requests may not work and additional errors may be generated in the user interface. Calendar data may also become stale during this period, so event and calendar updates may not be reflected on Styled Calendar’s end.
What Causes The Google Calendar API Quota To Become Exhausted?
The API quota may become exhausted for any of the following reasons:
- The user adds or removes a large number of source calendars or source calendar accounts within a twenty-four hour period.
- A large number of connected Google Calendars are added, edited, or deleted within a twenty-four hour period (either by the user or by someone else with access).
- A large number of events on connected Google Calendars are added, edited, or deleted within a twenty-four hour period (either by the user or by someone else with access).
If you’re seeing this error and you believe that none of the above apply to your situation, please contact us and let us know.
What To Do If You See This Warning.
If you see this warning, you will need to wait for twenty-four hours before continuing the Styled Calendar editor. After that period ends, you may want to check for stale data on your calendars. Once the quota refreshes, stale data can be cleared by making minor changes to events within the relevant calendars via Google Calendar. To prevent this issue in the future, try to avoid making excessive edits to Google Calendars within a twenty-four hour period, as outlined above.
